Videos About Model Horses

This page features videos about artist resin model horses, including production methods, the differences between 3D printed and cast models, and general insights for collectors. These videos are intended to provide clear, practical information to help better understand the work, the process, and the finished pieces.

Provenance In Model Horses

A model is more than how it looks. Its history, origin, and journey define its true significance. This video explores what provenance means and why it matters, from original finish models to customized works and proven show horses. Each carries a different kind of history that shapes how it is understood and valued.

Provenance connects creation, ownership, and recognition over time. Because long after a model changes hands, its history remains.

Truth Doesn’t Forget

You don’t spend years building something with someone by accident. This is a reflection on collaboration, memory, and what remains, something many people experience in different forms. Time, effort, and contribution don’t disappear, even when they’re set aside or no longer acknowledged.

The Reality Behind Handcrafted Model Horses

A clear look at why our models are now more limited.
Not everything is made fast. Some things are made carefully—one at a time.

This is what really goes into cast model horse production.

Polyurethane vs Polyester Horses

Not all resins are the same. This video explains key differences between polyurethane and polyester resins, and what collectors should know when evaluating quality, durability, and long-term stability.

This video focuses on the materials most relevant to miniature casting and collectible models.

The Resin Divide

All “resin” model horses are not the same — understand the difference. This video breaks down the difference between 3D printed model horses and traditional cast resin models, including quality, process, and what collectors should know.

The Architecture of Darvo

General thoughts on collaboration dynamics in creative spaces. There are recurring patterns in creative collaborations that can be difficult to recognize in the moment but have a real impact on the work and the people involved. This video explores those patterns and what they look like in practice.

The Chemistry of Collectibles

Using resin sourced within the United States helps ensure freshness, consistency, and reliable quality. This video explores how material sourcing impacts the longevity and overall standard of art resins and model horses.

Warning: this video may not be for the faint of heart. I assure you, though, no micros were harmed in the making of this video. I just got these Seunta 3D printed micros and charms(1:120) in to see just how tough they are. I am very impressed at how sturdy and strong they feel. Some of my other printed ponies make me nervous just to pick them up. You could probably give these guys a good toss and not break their legs.

Fortunately for me my desk is very low and the fall to the wood floor is only about 2 feet. They all took that fall just to see if legs would hold up right before this video. The charms are sooo tiny. Not sure how they manage to print something so small! I don't think I'll be brave enough to try painting them but I'd love to get some primer on them.
