Equitano is an original sculpture from Sheila Bishop, Paloose Arts. Equitano is inspired by the working equitation Lusitano stallion. Collected, powerful horses that can canter pirouette as easy as they walk. They are some of the most beautiful horses ever ridden.

“Horses have always been my life. I was done in the first time I saw a carousel horse at the age of 2. I owned my first horse a Standardbred named I.C. Stars in 1982 and many others have blessed my life since then. I have done sorting, team penning, barrels, halter, reining and was a clinic junkie for 10 years.

It was only natural I continue my horse obsession with art. Since I picked up a pencil it was always horses. And it was a given coming from such an artistic family. I had no formal training but I created paintings on canvas, wall murals, and so many crafty type things I don't have the room to list. I sold at craft fairs to keep me in paint and brushes. In 1999 I discovered the equine art hobby and model horses shows and the rest is history.

I also enjoy writing and I'm a contributing author in two books which are currently available; Angel Horses: Divine Messengers of Hope and Horses with a Mission
