You didn’t need to know him to see the pureness, honesty and love in eyes…
Triple Vodka transmitted strength and power, you could feel that by just being in his presence.

Triple Vodka became a stakes winner in quarter horse racing at the age of 2. After a successful race career at age 3, he was retired to the breeding shed. Vodka stood at stud in Louisiana for his first years and while there, he contracted an infection that caused some hair loss throughout his body. The hair later grew back white in those areas, which just made him even more beautiful and unique. During this time, he also began the battle with white line disease which caused a chronic issue in his right front hoof. His popularity grew with his move to his new home in Texas. He was now breeding some of the top barrel racing mares and was also enrolled in many of the top paying and most popular stallion incentives which allowed his progeny to compete for top prize money.

Following two successful breeding seasons in Texas, the chronic white line disease began to get progressively worse. He was cared for and treated by a wonderful team of the top lameness vets in South Texas. It was in 2021, after many treatments, that the infection in the coffin bone became the most severe. Vodka’s owners were faced with making the most difficult decision yet, however even battling the intense infection, Vodka never showed any signs of giving up or losing strength. He demonstrated daily that his time here on Earth wasn’t over just yet. His eyes showed his strength and determination to live. He showed he still had so much fight in him and so his owners did just that….they fought for him. Triple Vodka traveled to Cody, WY where he underwent surgery to have his front foot amputated and have a prosthetic leg fitted for him.

He was a true warrior through the whole process and continued to show that this was the best choice for him. He returned home to Texas a couple of months later, where he was free to run, graze and buck in his very own paddock as though nothing had ever changed. It was as though he had been given his life back. He was himself again and quickly reminded the stallion barn that he was THE alpha male. His owners were so incredibly grateful to own a stallion as special as Triple Vodka. He truly was one of a kind and had an incredible soul.
