Inspired by antique early 20th century lithographs and prints of fox hunting mounts, I, SugarLoaf Nebula, humbly present to you my debut sculpture “Automatic Chess Machine”.
Automatic Chess Machine is named after the antique “Mechanical Turk” also known as “Automaton Chess Player”. The spirit of Antiques were guiding through the entire time of crafting Automatic Chess Machine .
Automatic Chess Machine is a mare. I was inspired to make her a mare because not just geldings and stallions can have a masculine and strong presence. She is sure footed, and commands the hunt field, she is the first in flight, and bravely looks ahead at victory. Featuring a roached mane and docked tail, Automatic Chess Machine was not sculpted to represent any particular breed, but more of a 15 hand stalky utilitarian mutt. What amalgamation of breeds do you see in this mare? Maybe Thoroughbred, Irish Draught, or Anglo Arabian? Automatic Chess Machine is the superb riding mount or carriage horse for your performance classes. I look forward to seeing your creativity with her!
